Robin E Roberts is an Associate Professor in Agribusiness and International Trade at the Griffith Business School, Griffith University. She is also a member of the Griffith Asia Institute and a Research Lead in Agribusiness. Her interdisciplinary research focuses on advancing food trade and market insights in the Asia-Pacific, particularly in Southeast Asia. She holds a PhD in International Trade from Griffith University, complemented by an MBA and Honours in International Business from the same institution.
Her research interests include export opportunities, market intelligence systems, consumer decision-making, and agribusiness innovation. Notable works include studies on mango supply chains in Vietnam, pandemic impacts on food security, and AI adoption in retail. She has authored over 40 refereed publications and books like Contemporary International Business in the Asia-Pacific Region (2019) and International Marketing: 4th Asia-Pacific Edition (2013).
Dr. Roberts has led multiple funded projects, including initiatives to improve mango trade competitiveness and gendered responses to crises. She received awards such as the Meritorious Teaching Award (2019) and Early Career Researcher Award (2017). As a supervisor, she guides doctoral research on topics like AI adoption and smallholder market participation.
Her work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals 2 (Zero Hunger), 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and 12 (Responsible Consumption). She actively contributes to industry through roles like ACIAR Workshop Chair and serves on regional development boards.
