معرفی
Robin Bonomi is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in Psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine, with a focus on translational neuro-PET imaging to study PTSD and neuroimmune mechanisms. She holds an MD and PhD from Wayne State University in Biomedical Engineering. Her research investigates epigenetic enzymes like HDAC6 and their role in PTSD pathophysiology, particularly linking trauma to microglia-mediated neuroimmune suppression and anhedonia. She received the 2024 Lustman Award for Psychiatric Research for her work on HDAC6 suppression in PTSD. Her studies also explore sex differences in alcohol use disorder neurobiology and synaptic density changes in addiction. She collaborates on PET imaging innovations for epigenetic regulation in psychiatric disorders.

Research interests span PTSD pathophysiology, neuroimaging techniques, and epigenetic biomarkers. Her recent work includes imaging HDAC6 in human and rodent models, and investigating synaptic deficits in alcohol and opioid use disorders. She has contributed to molecular imaging advancements for Sirtuins and HDACs in cancer and psychiatric contexts. Ongoing projects aim to translate neuroimmune findings into clinical diagnostics and therapeutics.
