Roberto Bellanti

Roberto Bellanti is an Associate Professor and Honorary Consultant Neurologist at the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences within the Medical Sciences Division at the University of Oxford. He is also an MRC Clinical Research Fellow and DPhil candidate, focusing on immune-mediated neuropathies such as Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) and chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP).

His research aims to develop and validate serum peripheral nerve-specific biomarker assays using cell-based models of antibody-mediated nerve injury and patient serum samples. These biomarkers could improve diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment monitoring for inflammatory neuropathies, while serving as outcome measures in clinical trials.
