معرفی
Roberta Morrow is a researcher affiliated with the Materials Science Research Centre at the Royal College of Art (RCA). Her work focuses on bio-manufacturing textiles from waste, particularly leveraging bacterial cellulose derived from agricultural and municipal waste to create circular materials. She collaborates with Leeds University and the University of York's Centre for Novel Agricultural Products. Her research integrates design, materials science, and textile manufacturing to develop sustainable biomaterials.
Roberta holds an undergraduate degree in Textile Design from the University of Leeds and an MSc in Sustainable Textiles and Innovation, also from Leeds. She has worked as a research assistant and guest researcher at Newcastle University's Hub of Biotechnology in the Built Environment (HBBE), exploring living materials like mycelium and digital textile programming (Shima Seiki). Her projects emphasize material-led design and circular textile economies.
She contributes to the Textiles Circularity Centre, a UKRI-funded initiative addressing sustainable fashion through circular supply chains and consumer experience. Her work bridges art, architecture, and science to innovate in biomaterial applications.
