Professor Phil Purnell is a Visiting Professor at the Royal College of Art (RCA)'s Materials Science Research Centre and Director of the University of Leeds Cities Theme. His work focuses on sustainable materials, circular economy systems, and resource management. He leads interdisciplinary research on urban infrastructure resilience, waste recovery, and low-carbon solutions.
