Robert Z. Orlowski

Robert Z. Orlowski is an Ad Interim Chairman, Director of Myeloma, and Professor of Medicine at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. He holds primary appointments in the Department of Lymphoma/Myeloma and dual roles in the Department of Experimental Therapeutics, both within the Division of Cancer Medicine. His research focuses on multiple myeloma pathobiology, drug resistance mechanisms, and translational therapies. He leads numerous clinical trials and chairs the SWOG Myeloma Committee.

He has authored hundreds of publications and leads key initiatives in myeloma treatment guidelines (e.g., High-Risk Myeloma Consensus). His clinical trials evaluate novel agents like isatuximab, daratumumab, and BCMA-targeted therapies.
