Robert Weddle serves as Professor of Architecture at Drury University's Hammons School of Architecture, where he has taught since 1999. He leads design studios, research seminars, and history of architecture courses while co-directing study-abroad programs leveraging his six years of experience teaching in France.
His educational credentials include a B.S. (1982) and M.Arch. (1985) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and an M.A. (1994) and Ph.D. (1997) from Cornell University's History of Architecture and Urbanism program. Prior to Drury, he taught at Bryn Mawr College and the University of Illinois Study Abroad Program in Versailles.
Professor Weddle's research centers on mid-20th century French urban design professionals and public responses to Parisian urban renovation, complemented by innovative work applying design-studio methodologies to historical education. His scholarly contributions have secured funding from the Graham Foundation and National Endowment for the Humanities.
His distinguished recognition includes:
