Robert I Matz is a Professor of English at George Mason University, specializing in early modern literature, Shakespeare and Renaissance drama, gender and sexuality studies. He earned his PhD (1993) and MA (1988) from Johns Hopkins University and a BA (1986) from Cornell University with summa cum laude distinctions.
