Jennifer Linhart Wood is an Assistant Professor of English at George Mason University, specializing in Renaissance drama, Critical Race Theory, Feminist Theory, and Shakespeare studies. She teaches literature and composition courses. Her research explores sound's role in constructing otherness in early modern texts, with a focus on music and sound effects cues in dramatic works.
She authored Sounding Otherness in Early Modern Drama and Travel: Uncanny Vibrations in the English Archive (2019), which won the 2021 David Bevington Award, and edited Dynamic Matter: Transforming Renaissance Objects (2022). Her articles appear in journals like Early Modern Women: An Interdisciplinary Journal, Shakespeare Studies, and Journal for Early Modern Cultural Studies.
Her current book project examines sound cues in early modern drama. Wood holds affiliations with George Mason University's English department and contributes to interdisciplinary research on early modern material culture.
