Dr Robert Garson is a Research Fellow at the School of Humanities, Keele University. He holds a bachelor's degree in History from the University of Sussex and a doctorate from the London School of Economics. His current research focuses on the late 18th-century US Dollar adoption debate and global political economy through a collaborative project with the Open University.
His notable publications include The Democratic Party and the Politics of Sectionalism, 1941-1948 (1974), The Uncertain Power: A Political History of the United States Since 1929 (1990, co-authored with Chris Bailey), and The United States and China: A Troubled Affair (1994). His work appears in journals such as the Journal of American Studies, South Atlantic Quarterly, and Review of International Studies.
Dr Garson’s research bridges political history, international relations, and economic policy analysis, with a focus on US domestic and foreign policy dynamics across different historical periods.
