Robert Finkel is the Program Chair and Associate Professor of Graphic Design at Auburn University's School of Industrial and Graphic Design. He holds a Master of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from the University of Florida and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology & Sociology from Rhodes College. His research focuses on Branding & Identity, Typography, Graphic Design History, and Letterpress Printing.
He has led initiatives such as the annual Kaleidoscope Design Show, which showcases student creativity, and served as a judge for the UCDA Design Awards. His work includes preserving historical narratives like the 60th anniversary of 'Bloody Sunday' through design projects. Finkel actively promotes creative scholarship, exemplified in his participation in the 2025 CADC Showcase and seed grant initiatives.
His professional contributions include advancing faculty tenure and promotion processes within the College of Architecture, Design and Construction (CADC). He mentors students through academic programs and has been recognized for fostering student success in national competitions like the UCDA Awards.
