Robert Erle Barham is a Professor of English at Covenant College since 2012. His research focuses on English Renaissance Literature, Creative Nonfiction, and Contemporary Fiction. He holds a PhD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, an MPhil from the University of Cambridge, an MA from the University of Virginia, and a BA from Louisiana State University.
His creative work explores narrative forms and personal essays, with recent publications in Short Reads, Current, and Beautiful Things from River Teeth. Professor Barham emphasizes storytelling's role in understanding human experience and values Covenant's collaborative academic community.
Outside academia, he enjoys family adventures in Chattanooga and cites Raiders of the Lost Ark as his favorite film. His pedagogical philosophy integrates rigorous literary analysis with compassionate mentorship.
