Robert E. Roush

Dr. Robert E. Roush serves as Professor of Geriatrics at Baylor College of Medicine and Adjunct Lecturer at Sam Houston State University (SHSU) since 2016, teaching Multicultural Health (HLTH 2383) and Current Health Issues practicum (HLTH 4117). He directs the Institute for Advanced Thought on Aging and previously founded Baylor's Center for Allied Health Professions in 1971.

Dr. Roush's research centers on geriatrics with emphasis on elder financial abuse prevention and emergency preparedness. His work integrates geriatrics, public health, and behavioral science to develop practical clinical interventions for vulnerable older adults.

His publication history spans five decades, evolving from foundational medical anthropology studies to contemporary research on financial exploitation risk factors and geriatric emergency response, demonstrating consistent focus on protecting aging populations through evidence-based education and clinical tools.
