Robert A Nerone

Robert A Nerone is an Assistant Professor and Vice Chair in the Department of Restorative Dentistry and Comprehensive Care at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. He serves as Director of Chairside Digital Dentistry and co-course director for pre-doctoral courses including Principles of Professional Practice and Practice Management. Dr. Nerone transitioned to full-time faculty in 2018 after a 25-year private dental practice career. He leads the CAD-CAM Clinic and actively participates in restorative clinics for student training.

His research interests focus on integrating digital technologies into dental education and clinical practice. He pioneered the dental school’s CAD-CAM Clinic, emphasizing innovation in restorative procedures. Dr. Nerone is committed to advancing professional standards through his roles on the pre-doctoral admissions committee, Dean’s Council, and as faculty advisor for ASDA and ACT-ARCO.
