Rob Stokes

Professor Rob Stokes is the Head of the Liverpool Law School and Associate Dean (Education) at the University of Liverpool's School of Law and Social Justice. His research focuses on commercial law, corporate regulatory frameworks, financial crime, and pedagogic innovation. He leads modules on Commercial Law, International Financial Crime, and Contemporary Issues in Business Law. Notable awards include the 2017 HSS Faculty Learning and Teaching Prize for educational excellence.

Research interests include corporate liability in financial crime contexts, anti-money laundering regulations, and assessment design in legal education. He pioneered pedagogic methods such as reflective podcasts and diagnostic MCQs. His leadership roles include serving on the HSS Faculty Education Committee and the University Approval Panel.

Publications include multiple editions of the authoritative Commercial Law textbook and peer-reviewed works on LIBOR manipulation and AML compliance challenges in emerging payment technologies.
