Rob Gillezeau serves as Assistant Professor of Economic Analysis and Policy at the University of Toronto with dual appointments in the Department of Management at UTSC and the Rotman School of Management. He maintains significant external affiliations as research affiliate at the CICD Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, affiliated scholar at the Stone Center on Socio-economic Inequality and People's History Lab, and fellow at the Broadbent Institute.

His research integrates causal methodologies from labour economics to examine critical socio-economic issues. Primary focus areas include Indigenous economic history (analyzing bison near-extermination impacts and historical treaty effects) and protest-police dynamics (investigating African American protest movements and disproportionate police killings of civilians).
Dr. Gillezeau leads the Racial Uprisings Lab dedicated to empirical analysis of state responses to protest movements. He also co-directs the Canadian Economics Association's Indigenous Economics Study Group and serves as founding member of the Canadian Economics Diversity Committee.
Prior policy experience includes Chief Economist for Canada's Official Opposition (2011-2015) and senior aide to British Columbia's Minister of Finance and Deputy Premier (2017-2019).
