Rizgar Mageed

Professor Rizgar Mageed is a Professor of Experimental Immunology at Queen Mary University of London's William Harvey Research Institute (Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry). He holds dual fellowships from the Royal College of Pathologists (2009) and the Royal College of Physicians (2014). His career spans roles at institutions including Imperial College, University College London, and the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology.

Research Focus: Investigates molecular mechanisms of humoral autoimmunity in rheumatic diseases. Current studies explore B-cell receptor signaling defects in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), anti-TNF therapies' effects on rheumatoid arthritis, and developing targeted therapies using antibody fragments and small molecule inhibitors.
