Rita Stein-Redent is an apl. Professor of Social Sciences and Equal Opportunities Officer at the Department of Sociology, School of Social Sciences, Universität Vechta. Her research focuses on Sociology of education, Gender sociology, and Comparative Research/Eastern Europe.
She studied Political Economy at the State University of Rostov-on-Don, Faculty of Economics (Russian Federation), completed her doctorate at the Berlin School of Economics, and habilitated at the Faculty of Sociology at Bielefeld University. She has participated in building and implementing a Master's program in Gender Studies at the Faculty of Sociology at St. Petersburg University and has been an apl. Professor at the University of Vechta since October 2017.

Her recent publications examine topics related to digitalization, sustainability, family sociology, and gender studies, reflecting her interdisciplinary approach to understanding social phenomena across different cultural contexts, particularly between Eastern and Western Europe.
As Equal Opportunities Officer, she plays a significant role in advancing gender equality initiatives and diversity programs at Universität Vechta, building on her extensive experience in Gender Studies education.
