Rima Salah, Ph.D., is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Child Study Center, Yale School of Medicine, and a volunteer faculty member. She has held significant roles at the United Nations, including serving on the High-Level Independent Panel on Peace Operations (2014-15) and as Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General for MINURCAT in the Central African Republic and Chad.
Her career with UNICEF includes Deputy Executive Director (2004-2007, 2011-2012), Regional Director for West and Central Africa (1999-2004), and country representative roles in Vietnam, Burkina Faso, and Pakistan. Dr. Salah is renowned for advocating child and women’s rights in armed conflict, contributing to UN Security Council Resolutions 1612 and 1325.
