Ricky Burke is a Lecturer in Architecture and the Built Environment at the University of Plymouth, affiliated with the School of Art, Design and Architecture within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Business. He serves as Programme Leader for the BA (Hons) Architecture program and holds leadership roles as Undergraduate Year 2 Lead and Architecture Communications Stream Leader. Previously a student at the University of Plymouth, he is a registered architect with experience as a BIM consultant.
His teaching spans undergraduate and postgraduate architecture, built environment, civil engineering, and design courses in the UK and Hong Kong. Research interests focus on the built environment's role in social/personal fulfillment, inclusive design for vulnerable groups, and advanced media applications in architectural design.
Ricky has supervised one research degree: Olaniyi O’s ongoing study on Gangare informal settlement dynamics.
