Zhen Chen

Dr. Zhen Chen, known as George, is a Lecturer in Construction Management and Academic Leader of the Digital Construction Research Unit at the University of Strathclyde's Architecture Department. He holds roles as Course Director for MSc Advanced Construction Technologies and BIM, and chairs the Departmental Research Ethics Committee. With over two decades of industry and academic experience, he specializes in construction management, megaproject sustainability, and BIM integration.

Education: PhD in Construction Management (Hong Kong Polytechnic University), MEng in Civil Engineering (Tongji University), BEng in Architectural Engineering (Qingdao University of Technology).

Research focuses on megaproject management, digital construction, and sustainable built environments. Key contributions include frameworks for BIM adoption in education, risk simulation in megaprojects, and smart city policy analysis. He leads over £3m in research grants and has authored influential books like *Megaproject Risk Analysis & Simulation* and *Environmental Management in Construction*.

Recognition includes the 2023 Frontiers in Built Environment Award and honorary professorship at Chongqing Jiaotong University. Active in professional bodies (ASCE, EPSRC) and coordinates LinkedIn groups on AI in Built Environment and Construction Management.
