Yunfeng Chen is an Associate Professor at Purdue University's School of Construction Management Technology within the Purdue Polytechnic Institute. He directs the Construction Automation, Robotics, and Ergonomics (CARE) Lab, focusing on ergonomic engineering and advanced technologies for human-centered built environments. Dr. Chen holds a Ph.D. in Building Construction Management from Purdue University (2013), an M.Sc. in Management Science and Engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology (2009), and a B.Sc. in Business Administration from the same institution (2007).
Research Interests: His work spans construction automation, robotics, BIM implementation, work zone safety, and human-centered design. Recent research emphasizes ergonomic risk mitigation in transportation maintenance and the integration of autonomous technologies in infrastructure projects. He explores AI-driven solutions like fatigue detection systems and automated code compliance tools.
