Yuting Chen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Engineering Technology and Construction Management at UNC Charlotte, with a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Toronto (2017). She also holds a Master of Management in Construction Management from Tongji University (2012) and a Bachelor of Science in Cost Estimating and Control from Shandong Jianzhu University (2009).

Her research focuses on data analytics in construction safety, automation/robotics/virtual reality (VR)/BIM integration, organizational and individual resilience in safety contexts, and risk management maturity. Recent studies include UAV-BIM applications for safety monitoring and resilience-based safety climate models.
Selected publications highlight her work in applying data envelopment analysis (DEA) to safety efficiency, developing predictive resilience frameworks, and analyzing interpersonal conflict impacts on construction safety. Her research bridges technological innovation with human factors in construction environments.
