Rick Wagner is a Robert O. Lawton Distinguished Professor of Psychology at Florida State University (FSU), affiliated with the College of Arts and Sciences and the Department of Psychology. He serves as Associate Director of the Florida Center for Reading Research (FCRR) and holds the W. Russell and Eugenia Morcom Chair. His research focuses on dyslexia, reading development, and interventions, including assistive technology. He earned a Ph.D. in Psychology from Yale University in 1985.
Research Interests:
- Neurocognitive mechanisms of reading disorders
- Assistive technology for dyslexia
- Meta-analytic methods in educational research
- Phonological processing and language acquisition
Lab Activities: Wagner's lab studies the home environments of children with dyslexia, evaluates assistive technology efficacy, and conducts large-scale meta-analyses. The lab is part of an NICHD-funded Multidisciplinary Learning Disability Center, emphasizing translational research and community dissemination.
