S. E. Gontarski is the Robert O. Lawton Distinguished Professor of English at Florida State University (FSU), specializing in 20th/21st-century Irish studies, Modernism, performance theory, and the History of Text Technologies. He holds a Ph.D. from The Ohio State University (1974). His roles include editorship of the Journal of Beckett Studies, directorships of FSU’s London Study Center and Ireland program, and visiting professorships globally.
