Richie Ryan

Dr. Richie Ryan is a Lecturer in Analytical and Pharmaceutical Science at South East Technological University's Department of Science, where he serves as joint Programme Leader for the MSc in Analytical Science with Quality Management. His research focuses on ocular therapeutics, polymer-based drug delivery systems, and analytical method development.

Key research areas include polyelectrolyte complex-based nanoformulations for ocular NAD+ delivery, hydrogel contact lens systems for sustained naringenin release, and composite drug carrier systems. Recent work evaluates safety and efficacy of novel ocular drug delivery platforms using in vitro and ex vivo models.

Ryan teaches advanced courses in chromatographic techniques, pharmaceutical formulation, and analytical method validation. With nearly seven years of industry experience, he brings expertise in analytical development, drug formulation, process scale-up, and regulatory compliance from roles in pharmaceutical R&D.
