Richard Underwood is the Edward T. Breathitt Professor of Law at the University of Kentucky's Rosenberg College of Law. He joined the faculty in 1980 after clerking for U.S. District Judge David S. Porter (1976-78) and practicing law at Vorys, Sater Seymour and Pease in Columbus, Ohio. His expertise spans legal ethics, professional responsibility, and legal history. He has held leadership roles in the Kentucky Bar Association, including chairing its Ethics Committee (1984-1998), Unauthorized Practice Committee (1984-1996), and Model Rules Committee (1988-1989). He also served on the ABA’s Ethics and Professional Responsibility Committee (2011-2014).
