Richard Stedman is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Natural Resources and the Environment at Cornell University. His work focuses on the intersection of social and ecological systems, utilizing sociological theories and methodologies to address human-environment conflicts. He is particularly interested in the impacts of rapid social and ecological changes on the sustainability of forested ecosystems, watersheds, and human communities. As a faculty member, he contributes to teaching, outreach, and research initiatives within the department.
