Professor Richard Lindley is a renowned geriatrician and stroke physician affiliated with the University of Sydney, Westmead Clinical School, and The George Institute for Global Health. He serves as Deputy Head of School for the Sydney Medical School and leads international clinical trials in geriatric medicine and stroke management. His work focuses on optimizing treatments for elderly populations, including landmark studies like the Third International Stroke Trial (IST-3) and the ATTEND trial evaluating family-led stroke rehabilitation in India.
He holds academic titles including Professor of Geriatric Medicine and has contributed to national stroke guidelines in Australia and Scotland. His research emphasizes frailty, stroke outcomes, and evidence-based interventions. Lindley has been recognized as an Honorary Overseas Member of the Association of British Neurologists and has held leadership roles in organizations like the National Stroke Foundation.
