Professor Peter Langhorne is an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the University of Glasgow, School of Cardiovascular & Metabolic Health, Department of Geriatric Medicine. Previously, he served as Professor of Stroke Care (2001–2020) and was the coordinating editor of the Cochrane Stroke Group (2010–2020). His career includes training in geriatric and general medicine at Aberdeen, Edinburgh, and Glasgow Universities. He has authored over 300 scientific articles, focusing on stroke management (stroke units, early recovery), service development in low/middle-income countries, and clinical trial methodologies.
