Richard Hu is a Professor at the Canberra Business School, University of Canberra. His research focuses on urban transformation, sustainable development, and Asian cities, emphasizing the Asia-Pacific region. He has authored influential books including Megaregional China (2024), Reinventing the Chinese City (2023), and Smart Design (2022). He leads the Asian Cities Network, a global platform for urban development discourse, and edits the Routledge Handbook of Asian Cities.
Education: PhD from the University of Sydney (2010).
Research Interests: Urban planning, sustainable cities, knowledge economies, and global urbanization trends. He has led projects on global cities like Shanghai, Singapore, and Sydney, exploring their economic, spatial, and cultural dynamics. His work addresses UN SDGs related to sustainable cities and communities.
