Dr. Richard Bellis is an Associate Lecturer in Medical Humanities at the University of St Andrews' School of Medicine. He holds a PhD from the University of Leeds (2019) focusing on Matthew Baillie's contributions to morbid anatomy in 18th- to 19th-century Britain. His research spans the history of anatomy, pathology, and science communication, with a focus on medical museums, ethics of human remains, and digital humanities applications in medical history. He also investigates how medical humanities can be effectively integrated into medical school curricula. Dr. Bellis has held teaching roles at multiple UK universities, including medical ethics instruction at St Andrews. He currently supervises BSc/MSc/PhD students and serves as Deputy Module Controller for MD3002.
