Ria D'Aversa is a Lecturer in Viticulture at the School of Integrative Plant Science, Horticulture Section, Cornell University. With expertise in cool climate viticulture and ecological farming practices, she focuses on sustainable grape-growing systems and climate change adaptation in vineyards.
- Education: Master of Science (2015) in Viticulture and Soil Systems from UC Davis, Bachelor of Science in Botany from the University of Vermont (2006)
Her research interests include:
- Cool climate viticulture
- Soil systems and ecological farming practices
- Climate change impacts on vineyards
Ria combines academic instruction with hands-on experience from working at renowned vineyards such as Broc Cellars, Tenuta Tignanello, Treasury Wine Estates, McEvoy Ranch, Constellation Brands, and Hermann J. Wiemer. She advocates for organic farming practices and operates her own small wine brand.
