Rhiannan Johnson

Assoc Prof Rhiannan Johnson is a visual artist and academic at the University of Southern Queensland. She lectures in the School of Creative Arts, specializing in 2D Studio Foundations, Intermediate/Advanced Studio practice, and Professional Visual Art Projects. Her research focuses on contemporary printmaking, visual narratives, and intersections between art, trauma, motherhood, and education.

As a practicing printmaker, her creative works include "This Time Around" (2021), "Breaking Point" (2020), and "Pass" (Giclée print, 2024). She serves as Specialisation Convenor (Visual Art) and former Associate Head of School for Learning, Teaching & Student Success.

A member of the Print Council of Australia, her academic leadership spans 13 years of tertiary teaching experience. Her work explores narrative subversion and contemporary art practices through both research and studio-based education.
