Rheem Medh is a Professor in the Department of Biology at California State University, Northridge (CSUN). Their academic career has focused on molecular genetics of cell death, particularly in developing therapeutic strategies for cancer through apoptosis research. Currently, they are actively teaching courses such as Human Genetics (BIOL 468) and Cellular Physiology Laboratory (BIOL 580/L), emphasizing student-centered learning and academic achievement.
- Ph.D. in Biology, University of Texas (1990)
- M.S. in Biology, University of Bombay (1984)
- B.S. in Biology, University of Bombay (1982)
Education
Research Interests
Professor Medh's research historically centered on the genetic basis of programmed cell death in leukemia models, exploring gene networks and signaling pathways (apoptosis, autophagy) to understand cancer cell fate. Notable work involved transcriptional repressors like E4BP4/NFIL3A and calcium signaling regulators such as RCAN1.Current Academic Role
Despite stating they no longer have an active research program, Professor Medh remains engaged in teaching advanced courses in genetics and molecular biology, including General Genetics (BIOL 360), Molecular Diagnostics (BIOL 471A), and Seminar in Genetics (BIOL 655D).۰مقاله منتشرشده
