PD Dr. Reza Mosayebi is a Senior Lecturer in Political Philosophy and Legal Philosophy at Ruhr University Bochum's Faculty of Philosophy and Educational Research. His academic roles include leading research on Kantian ethics, race theory, and human rights. He holds a PhD from the University of Tübingen (2013) and is completing a Habilitation on Kantianism and anti-racism (2024).
Research focuses on Kant's philosophy, critical race theories, and intersectionality. Key topics include Kant's metaphysics of race, juridical empowerment for marginalized groups, and socio-economic human rights. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes on topics like Rawls' human rights theory, Kantian constructivism, and dignity in moral frameworks.
Recent invited talks include sessions at Goethe-Institut Amsterdam (2024), Harvard University (2023), and King's College London (2019). Awards include fellowships from the Global Young Faculty and Hannover Institute of Philosophical Research. Current research explores Kantian accounts of intersectionality and racial justice.
Teaching includes advanced seminars on critical race philosophy, normative ethics, and Kant's moral and political philosophy. He co-organizes interdisciplinary conferences like the 2023 Kant, Race, and Racism symposium.
