Jens Saugstad is a Professor of Philosophy at the University of Oslo's Faculty of Humanities, affiliated with the Department of Philosophy, Classics, History of Art and Ideas. He holds a magister artium (1982) and a PhD (1994) from the University of Oslo, with a Fulbright fellowship at Columbia University (1984–85). His research focuses on Kantian philosophy, deontological ethics, and contemporary philosophy (e.g., Wittgenstein), emphasizing theoretical philosophy, epistemology, and the philosophy of mind.
