Reza Maghdour-Mashour is a researcher in the Department of Earth Sciences at Carleton University. His work focuses on Ni-Cu ore deposits in the Keweenawan Large Igneous Province, particularly the geochemical and thermodynamic conditions leading to cubanite formation. He develops strategies to identify cubanite-rich zones and improve industrial efficiency through geometallurgical analysis.
Research interests include exploration of large igneous provinces, magmatic sulfide genesis, basaltic magma differentiation modeling, anorthositology, and geodynamic studies of the Turkish-Iranian plateau within the Neo-Tethyan ocean realm. His research integrates theoretical, chemical, and physical approaches to understand layered intrusion formation and ancient tectonic processes.
