Reuven Amitai

Reuven Amitai is a Professor at the Department of Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, specializing in late medieval history of the Middle East, Eastern Mediterranean, and Inner Asia. His research encompasses the Mongol and Turkic incursions into the Middle East, the Mamluk Sultanate, the Mongol Ilkhanate, Crusades, military history, Islamization, Arabic epigraphy, and medieval Palestine.

As a Bonn University Ambassador, he advocates for the University of Bonn's interdisciplinary research environment, particularly for early-career researchers seeking intellectual growth and collaborative opportunities post-doctorate.
