Renate Baumgartner

Renate Baumgartner is an Assistant Professor of Participatory AI at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam's Faculty of Science, affiliated with the Athena Institute and the Network Institute. Her research focuses on inclusive AI development in healthcare through participatory methods, informed by feminist science and technology studies, sociology of categorization, and risk. She holds a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences (University of Vienna, 2010) and has expertise in gender studies and clinical development.
