Dr. Regina Murphy is an Associate Professor and former Head of the School of Arts Education & Movement at Dublin City University's Institute of Education. With qualifications including teaching credentials and principalship experience, her research focuses on arts education, teacher identity, reflective practice, and formative assessment.
Research examines how generalist and early years educators develop expertise in arts education, using embodied knowledge approaches. Recent publications explore playful music pedagogy, digital teaching transformations, and social justice in music education.
Dr. Murphy developed innovative programs including Ireland's first Certificate/Diploma in Ethical and Multidenominational Education and Master of Teaching program. She serves as Assistant Chair of the Society for Music Education in Ireland and co-editor of the British Journal of Music Education.
