Dr. James Akpu is an Assistant Professor in Global History at Dublin City University (DCU), affiliated with the School of History and Geography. His research focuses on African history, Ireland-Africa relations, church-state dynamics, missionary movements, maternal health, philanthropy, technology, gender studies, environmental history, and British imperial history.

- B.A. and M.A. (Distinction) in History, University of Ibadan, Nigeria
