Gerry O’Reilly

Dr Gerry O'Reilly is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Geography at Dublin City University (DCU), serving as International Affairs Co-ordinator for the College. He has been with DCU's Geography Department at St Patrick's Campus since 1997 after holding academic positions at UCD, Durham University, Tunis University, Algeria-Annaba University, and The Ohio State University.

Research Interests

His work bridges political, economic, and cultural geography with practical applications in geopolitics and sustainable development. Key focus areas include humanitarian action frameworks, vulnerability analysis in MENA regions, and landscape interpretation pedagogy. He teaches specialized modules on Geopolitics, MENA Regional Geography, and field-based Irish landscape studies.
