Regan Schmidt is a Professor and the Chartered Professional Accountants Chair in Accounting at the University of Saskatchewan's Edwards School of Business. He has been a faculty member since 2009 and currently serves as the Department Head of Accounting. His academic credentials include a Ph.D. from Queen's University, an MPAcc from the University of Saskatchewan, and a B.Admn from the University of Regina. He holds FCPA and FCA designations from CPA Saskatchewan/CPA Canada.
Dr. Schmidt's research focuses on enhancing audit quality, governance, and financial reporting by examining professional decision-making processes of auditors, directors, and investors. His work has been published in top journals such as Harvard Business Review, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, and Behavioral Research in Accounting. His research has received funding from SSHRC and industry partners like CPA Canada.
