Nathalie Johnstone is an Associate Professor at the N. Murray Edwards School of Business, University of Saskatchewan. She joined as a term instructor in 2005 and became a tenured-track faculty member in 2011. Her teaching focuses on taxation and advanced financial accounting.
Education:
- MPAcc (Master of Professional Accounting), University of Saskatchewan
- B.Comm (Bachelor of Commerce), University of Saskatchewan
- FCPA (Fellow of CPA Saskatchewan) and FCA (Fellow of Chartered Accountants Saskatchewan)
Research Interests: Nathalie’s work spans taxation policy, IFRS transition impacts on education, and innovative teaching methodologies. She co-authors case studies for platforms like IVEY Publishing and Wiley, emphasizing critical thinking and real-world applications.
Leadership & Community Engagement:
- Council member, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Saskatchewan
- Advisor to JDC West tax team and faculty coordinator for the Edwards School’s Volunteer Tax Program
- Lead Tax Facilitator for CPA Western School of Business’s tax elective in Western Canada
Grants & Advising: Nathalie advises students on taxation and financial reporting. She collaborates with professional bodies to develop CPA Pep program materials and oversees tax preparation services for low-income individuals in Saskatoon.
