Reg Johanson is a Lecturer in the Department of English at Capilano University's School of Humanities. He holds an MA (1995) and BA (1991) in English from Simon Fraser University. His teaching focuses on anti-colonial and anti-capitalist perspectives in writing and contemporary literature. Johanson has taught at Douglas College, Langara College, SFU, and in Seoul, South Korea. He is the editor of CUE Books and author of multiple poetry collections, including Mortify and Band of Gypsies.

His research interests center on the colonial project's impact on culture and the possibilities of resistance. His publications span poetry, critical essays, and edited volumes, emphasizing decolonization, migration, and social justice. Johanson has presented at conferences such as the Stenistolw Indigenous Adult Education Conference and the Durutti Free Skool conference in Oakland.
Living in East Vancouver, he critiques gentrification and actively engages with First Nations communities and land rights. His work often bridges academic critique with grassroots activism, blending literary innovation with political urgency.
