Rebecca Tillett is an Associate Professor in American Literatures and Cultures at the University of East Anglia (UEA), affiliated with the School of Politics, Philosophy and Area Studies and ClimateUEA. She co-leads the Indigenous Studies Research Network (ISRN) and Green BAAS, focusing on climate action and ecological research practices. Her work bridges Indigenous Studies, Settler Colonial Studies, and Environmental Humanities, examining how Indigenous literatures address climate crisis and colonial legacies. She has edited major works like Indigenous Bodies and Howling For Justice, and is authoring a book on Indigenous fiction and climate debates.
Her research emphasizes Indigenous cosmopolitical knowledge as a counter to capitalist and colonial systems. She has held external examiner roles at King's College London and the University of Essex. Dr. Tillett welcomes PhD students on topics including Indigenous futurisms, climate crisis narratives, and multiethnic American writing. She co-edits journals like Comparative American Studies and New Area Studies, advocating for interdisciplinary approaches to environmental challenges.
