Rebecca Lingafelter is an Associate Professor of Theatre and Department Chair at Lewis & Clark College. She holds an MFA from Columbia University (2005) and a BA from the University of California, San Diego (2000). Her work spans performance, directing, and teaching, with a focus on experimental theatre and interdisciplinary collaboration. She is a co-artistic director of Portland Experimental Theatre Ensemble (PETE) and a core company member at Third Rail Repertory Theatre.
Her professional experience includes performances at institutions like the Metropolitan Opera and international engagements in Korea, Germany, Italy, England, and Hungary. She directs mainstage productions and teaches courses in acting, directing, devised performance, voice, and global contemporary performance. Recent directing credits include I Think of You (Portland Center Stage, 2023) and works for Third Rail Repertory Theatre.
Rebecca’s creative practice emphasizes collaborative, student-driven projects and experimental formats. She is affiliated with Actors Equity and SAG/AFTRA unions and maintains active involvement in Portland’s theatre community through organizations like PETE and Third Rail.
