Rebecca Lartigue is a Professor of English and Director of the Honors Program at Springfield College. She holds a PhD and MA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a BA from Louisiana State University. Her academic affiliations include the Department of Literature, Writing, and Journalism within the School of Arts and Sciences.
Her research focuses on Medieval and Early Modern Literature, with specialties in Chaucer, Shakespeare, and pedagogical innovation. She teaches courses such as British Literature I, History of the English Language, and Medieval Literature. Beyond the classroom, she organizes interdisciplinary programs like Banned Books Week, Medieval Week, and faculty-led study abroad initiatives. Her presentations emphasize integrating historical texts with contemporary issues and innovative teaching methods.
Her scholarly contributions include discussions on medieval sexual violence's relevance to modern consent frameworks and accessible approaches to teaching York Mystery Plays. She has also pioneered models for embedded study abroad programs and explored gender dynamics in early modern drama.
