Rebecca Hughes is a Lecturer in Nursing at Wrexham University, where she leverages her extensive clinical expertise in mental health nursing. With over 18 years of experience in diverse NHS settings—including inpatient wards, community teams, and primary care—she specializes in teaching mental health interventions and therapeutic practices. Her work spans across Children's and Adolescents Mental Health Teams, Adult Mental Health Services, and Older Adults Services in North Wales.
Her clinical training includes:
- Advanced certifications in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
- Trauma-informed care through the Trauma in Schools (TIS) and Trauma Informed Diploma Course
- Leadership in mental health first aid for youth and adults
